Hi, we are Braun Brush: a multi-generational company with rich history and deep roots in experimentation, play, research, community and innovation. A look through our mid-century catalogues shows just how long we've been doing this: the growth, but the foresight we've had since the beginnings. This is our family, our passion; it is what we know and commune over.

Braun is special because our expertise allows us to guide you in your questions and curiosity--in search of solutions to, very often, specific problems. We are by the telephone, available by e-mail, mail (if you are so keen to writing a letter to us) and in the neighborhood where we've been for over 50 years. We listen to the problem and application at hand, seek to find a resolution because... there's likely a brush for that.

Our roots started with the creamery and dairy industry. A brush to clean milk bottles, refined, made better over time. Emmanuel Braun brought over his knowledge of brush making as an immigrant from Germany. He applied this knowledge to resolve the issue he was facing of cleaning milk bottles efficiently and thoroughly. As a young teenager, Emmanuel worked cleaning milk bottles but found his tools (a rag...) quite insufficient and inefficient. He relentlessly sought a better solution, crafting many prototypes--over the span of years--until the perfect mix of bristle and handle size and material came to be.
Not far off from what we do here now...
He eventually dropped the job and focused on developing his brush business, demonstrating and selling his innovative brush to dairy farms and factories across Brooklyn...

There are many applications for brushes--ones you probably would not really think of day to day... sewn-in, wire-drawn brushes that need to be metal-free to clean the walls of coolant tanks at nuclear plants; strip brushes that seal off in-between spaces and hold wires in place in store display cases; fibers made of bronze that clean the relays of coin slot machines and payphones. There is a spectacle of specific and special uses for brushes. With much to accomplish, we remain eager to find and create the tools meant for you.
Having always been a small, tight-knit company and factory, welcome to our family. We are so glad you are here. Stay a while, won't you?
